Understanding Roles & Permissions

FACTS Learning Roles & Permissions (Access Levels)

Users in the system will always have at least the Learner role, and can be assigned one or more additional roles.

User Role	System Permission
Site Admin This role is assigned by FACTS.	This role has full access to all functions and all groups for the site.
Content Creator This role is assigned by FACTS.	This role provides the ability to the following screens and functions: Resources > Manage Content  Can add new content to the library and post content as a resource to groups
Course Builder This role is assigned by FACTS.	This role provides the ability to the following screens and functions: Manage > Course Builder Can create and edit Courses using Course Builder Can upload SCORM
User Admin This role is assigned on the Manage > Users page and gives permission access based upon the selected group.	The following screens and functions are added for someone with this role: Includes user numbers and stats  List and searching for all users and departments in group Progress report overview with link to Class Reports screen Drill down ability on specific user to view progress summary Reports > Class Reports Progress reports for all classes set up in the group Reports > Custom Reports Access to custom reports (Group Level) as defined by client Manage > Users Ability to add / edit users and user details in the group Manage > Classes Ability to add / edit classes and class enrollment for the group Manage > Communication Ability to post dashboard notifications Other functions as defined by client
Manager This role is added on the Manage > Users page. A Manager role gives the following access for user data and details that they are assigned the supervisor of. Supervisors are assigned on the Users > Import template or in the Advanced User Options of the User Details screen.	The following screens and functions are added for someone with this role: Dashboard > Manager Dashboard List and searching for all users and job titles for their Direct Reports Progress report overview with link to Class Reports screen Drill down ability on specific user to view progress summary Reports > Custom Reports Progress reports for all classes for their Direct Reports
Instructor This role is added on the Manage > Users page. Instructors must also be manually assigned Instructor for each class after it is set up.	This role gives the following access based on the classes they are marked an instructor for: Instructor Menu > Attendance Ability to track and update attendance for classes in which they are instructors Instructor Menu > My Classes List the classes you are marked instructor for with ability to drill down into user progress for each Can look up and user information, reset passwords, and send login emails
Executive This role is added on the Manage > Users page. This is an add-on role that can be paired with User Admin role to add additional sets of permissions (i.e. User Admin Plus).	Customized to add additional functions as needed by client.
