The LMS allows you to issue certifications to learners upon course completion. Certifications can be used to create tracks or paths for your learners to follow to demonstrate competence or continued education.
Introduction
Manage Certifications page allows users to do the following certification tasks:
- Add, edit, and view certifications
- Approve and decline requested requirement credits
- View certifications assigned to users
- Manually assign certifications to users
- Manually approve requirement credits by user or by bulk
- Send certification emails
- Print certificate by user or by bulk
To access this page, open your LMS Site and click Admin > Certification Setup.
List
The main features of the List tab:
• The list shows all the certifications for the selected group by default. Use Search System Standard checkbox to see all public certifications for the site.
A. Filter by: The list can be filtered by requirement type – Course, Certification, Subscales
B. Search box – Search for certifications by name
C. Table – Shows the certification name, type, total credit hours, and where the certification was created
D. Add – Add a new certification
Approve
The main features of the Approve tab:
- The approve tab allows admins to approve or decline requirements submitted for approval. Once approved, credit hours are awarded to the user.
- The tab has two views – Pending Approvals and Posted Approvals
- The list includes certification requirement requests from the selected group
NOTE: it is important that the naming convention of the submission requirement is defined in the course to ensure these can easily be found.
A. Export to Excel – search results can be exported to an Excel spreadsheet
B. Table – submissions pending approval are displayed by default. The table displays the submission details in columns. Select the submission you wish to view and approve/decline from the table. The approver, whether an Administrator or Instructor, has the ability to add comments to the submission. The learner will receive email notifications for any new comments added.
Users
The main features of the Users tab:
• Shows all the users for the selected group
• If the selected group has subgroups, list can include users from these subgroups by marking the Search Subgroups checkbox
• Users can be filtered by assigned certification
• Send certification emails to users. The email template is set up on Manage-emails page.
• Print certificate by user or by bulk
• View a user’s assigned certifications for the site. This matches the user’s view on My Certifications page except for some admin-related functions such as Add Certification and New Approval.
Import
The main features of the Import tab:
- Awarding requirement credit can be done by bulk through a list
- The import tab shows user lists for the selected group
- Requirement credit/s can be applied for each list
Templates
By default, only the Super Admin has access to this tab. The templates tab allows you set up an image that will be issued to the learners after completing a required certification.
The ideal certificate size is 792 x 559 pixels.
