Replacing or Updating an Existing SCORM File
Note: For substantial changes, it is advisable to create a new course. This allows current learners to complete their existing classes without disruption or not seeing new information, while new learners will engage with the updated course.
To update a SCORM file in an existing course with active classes in progress, navigate to Resources > Manage Content in your content Library. This method allows you to avoid versioning the course. Click on Other for file type to filter the results. As stated above, it is advisable to use this approach only for minor updates, text changes, or error corrections. If you need to add new sections or information, the best practice is to create a new course to ensure that learning is uninterrupted.
If the SCORM file upload fails for an existing class after replacing the file and disrupts learning, you can quickly resolve this issue. Navigate to Manage > Content, click on the version tab to restore the previous version, which will display the old content while maintaining functionality.
Upload Fails:
- Using a different source file
- Changing the structure of the source file
- The file name, or files within the SCORM zip, has special characters
